L’nuey’s Archaeology unit consists of a Senior Archaeologist, a Geospatial Archaeologist, and an Indigenous Monitor and Archaeological Assistant. The unit is responsible for protecting, preserving, and managing Mi’kmaw archaeological heritage throughout Epekwitnewaq Mi’kmaq territory.
The team works to strengthen the capacity of Epekwitnewaq Mi’kmaq to manage and share their archaeological heritage through policy and protocol development, information management including an ArcGIS mapping tool, collections management, and related research and education initiatives.
